Directions to SML

From the M1 – southbound

Leave the M1 at Junction 9, the Whipsnade exit, and follow signs for A5183 St. Albans for about 5 miles. 

You will eventually pass the Pré Hotel on your right and shortly afterwards approach a roundabout with St Albans Cathedral approximately 1 mile ahead of you. Take the first exit at the roundabout into Batchwood Drive.  

Follow the ring road straight across the mini roundabout and "Ancient Britain" Traffic Lights into Beech Road and then take the first turning on your left, Firbank Road, signed “Valley Road Industrial Estate”. At the end of Firbank turn left into Valley Road and follow the road round to the right – Porters Wood. At the end of the road turn left and the SML office is the second building on the left. 

From the A1(M) – southbound 

Leave the A1(M) at Junction 3 (immediately after passing through the Hatfield Tunnel). 

At the roundabout take the second exit, the A414 towards St.Albans. 

After approximately three miles you will reach the London Colney roundabout. Take the fourth exit, turning into London Road and signed as “St.Albans A1081” 

Continue along London Road to the first set of Traffic Lights, take the right hand filter into Drakes Drive. 

Continue along Drakes Drive crossing several mini-roundabouts until you come to two larger roundabouts, continue straight across into Beechwood Avenue. Follow the ring road round until you come to a multi-Traffic Light junction by the King William public house. Immediately after the Traffic Lights take the first turning right in front of the Garage, this is Valley Road. Follow the road down and as it bears right it becomes Porters Wood. Drive to the end of the road, turn left and SML is the second building on the left.  

From the M25 anti-clockwise – Junction 22 

Leave the M25 at Junction 22. At the main roundabout take the second exit, signed towards St.Albans. 

At the next roundabout, the London Colney roundabout, take the third exit. This is London Road and is signed “St. Albans A1081”. 

Follow the above A1(M) southbound instructions from the London Road. 

From the A1M – northbound 

Leave the A1 at South Mimms, and join the M25 heading towards Watford and Heathrow. 

Follow the “From the M25 anti-clockwise” directions above.
